Default Basic DIY H&R Spring install questions: position and bump stops

good afternoon everyone,

I just read an awesome write up on DIY installing Lowering springs from sinister2c. Before taking on this project, aside from never doing it myself before, I had 2 questions. First off, when putting my new H&R Springs back on the strut, I know the position of the springs have to be correct, but are all 4 spings the same size? In other words, there is no way I can put the wrong spring on the wrong strut, correct?

Also, I've heard that cutting the bump stop is recommended. Can someone shed more light on the subject? Why shave it down? Sorry for such newbie questions, but I want to make sure I mildy understand everything im doing before I do it. Is there a few pictures someone can throw up on the before/after bump stop cutting?

Front / rear springs are different sizes

1) Which are the front and rear springs?
FRONT = Springs marked: VA, or (F), or Front
REAR = Springs marked: HA, or (R), or Rear

The bump stop is a rubber component slid onto the shock shaft to help it from having the upper mount from bottoming out on the shock body itself. I doubt the H&Rs lower the car enough to have to worry about shaving the bump stops honestly; but you might hit a bad pothole at times where you might feel the bump stop slam into the upper mount. Better the bump stop than the shock body!

Don't cut it. It was designed to be at that length to prevent the shock main piston to hit the floting piston (Gas chamber)
