Default staggered rims, bigger in back?

anybody ever set up their sc with larger rims in the back? im thinking of something like 17x7.5 up front and 18x8.5 in back. are there any issues with this setup (assuming the rims meet the right lug pattern/offset) on either the stock suspension, 1" eibach, or 1.3" supra?

There should be no problem with this, many members here have the Supra Twin Turbo rims which are 17x8 front and 17X9.5 rear. Many of these same members have drops too, so you should be fine. I have both and it has never caused a problem for me

that shouldn't be a problem . Many NSX owners have 17's in the front and 18's in the back or even 18's in front and 19's in the back.

What? 18" front/20" rear? Okay, 'lil Abner! Please do this only on hot rods!

Seriously, why would you want to stagger the diameters? Cars like the C5 Corvette and NSX are designed for this, the Lexus is not. If you intend to retain your ABS and traction control, you'll need to maintain the tire diameters front-to-rear.

Visually, with the 17" front/18" rear will make the front of the car look lifted, as the wheels doesn't visually 'fill' the wheel well as much as the 18s on the rear will.

This means running something like 245/45-17 front + 275/35-18 rear. Do you really want a 'buffalo' tire on the front, and a low-profile tire on the rear? Not cool. Step up for a proper 18" front/rear set-up.

Just say no to wierd wheel & tire set-ups!
