still think you know the route i took?
but back to the bouncy issue. so you're telling me you had about 500-600lbs of stuff in your car...remember I had 3 other ppl riding with me plus their luggage. It will be hard for me to test this without the EDFC. I don't usually drive with my car packed like that. At the height it is right now and just me and a full tank of gas, I don't bottom out at 0/1.

for the weight, i don't think i had 600lb, but at least 400lb for sure, still i had no problem. and yes, i also figured that a full and empty tank makes quite a bit of difference in the overall height

Jawnthen,
I mentioned to you before that when I drove a long trip with 5 people and an equivalent amount of luggage, I was afraid to have a full tank. My zero finger rear gap went down to atleast minus one finger.
I cranked up the settings to full 16 F & R. I can tell you the ride did not suffer significantly because all the weight just balanced everything out. (Usually I drive w/all settings at full soft)
Rominl is right that the springs have a more direct effect on weight, but the shocks are our only way to try and compensate.
Considering all the weight I had in the car, driving down form Tahoe was a blast. I was still passing most cars on the twisties without the humongus lean that I would get, if I were driving other vehicles through the same roads. The feeling was very secure, the car was stable and controllable.
Usually when I drive a car with this many people, it's a pain to drive; I feel like a bus driver, but in the GS, it was still all fun.

OK, now you're looking to carry 5 with power? That's definitely another GS plus.
Jawnthen and I also joked about going up Hwy 5 on the steep Grapevine section, passing everyone. It's great to pass and hang turns while simultaneously going uphill, all with EASE ! ! I have driven several other vehicles up that steep incline with the throttle floored and maxing out at 55-60 mph.

Grapevine...try it with a big Uhaul moving from L.A. to Bakersfield (culture shock). I was the only kid in town with a modded Beemer. In fact, I was the only kid in town with a beemer
So Jawnthen - no rubs at all??? How sweet is that???

I would say 97% of the time...no rubs...but with the car packed with passengers and luggage, i bottomed out and still hit the top of the wheel well going bout 85mph when i went over extremely big dips. This is of course with the HA set to 2/3. It may not have happened with stiffer settings. Also this happened maybe 3 times traveling a distance greater than 300 miles...so I'm pretty pleased with the results. If I'm just riding around on my daily commute I would say no rubs at all.
oh and for my grapevine story...toyota tacoma (the 4 cylinder one) hauling a sofa and other misc furniture...I had to floor it on the downhill sections just to make it up the next hill

Good luck with your search!

Don't know about the gold overlay, but park the 2 car colors together and you can tell the diff. Some don't prefer the "other" color. U B the judge.
