Changing the suspension
Hi all
I am getting a 08 IS250 soon and looking at the options for changing the suspension
I currently have a 2001 Mercedes C240 with Bilstein shocks(selling the C240 in exchange for the IS) and also a 2006 BMW 323i with 19" and M-sport suspension
since my cars are having such setup means I really like the stiffness of the European cars' suspension
I test drove the IS250(stock) a few days ago and I found the car is beautiful and comfortable(typical Lexus) but the rear passenger told me the suspension is too soft and floating like a Camry
so I took a look and they do have these offer in Hong Kong:
BC Racing- approx. 700USD
Blistein B8 shocks(no springs)- approx. 900USD
Tein Street Advance- approx. 1100USD installed
I used to have Apexi coilovers on my 3.2TL Type-S so I know BC is a good choice, however I only want to drop about 1" to avoid scraping because of the road conditions in Hong Kong
I also had TEIN adjustable on my Civic and their quality is very good and long lasting, but they tend to bottom out easily on heavier cars so this is a concern as well.
Bilstein always have superb quality but they are really expensive.
If I decide to go for BC coilovers, what is the minimum drop? is it possible to stay at the height of F-sport springs or H&R sport?
If not I might just get the Bilstein shocks with stock springs
thanks for the long post but I would be appreciate your answer as this is going to by my first Lexus ever!!!
