People talk about how supra springs will lower the sc about an inch but does this apply to all SC's? I feel like the 97+ SC's look much lower and have much less wheel gap. I'm confused on how much certain springs will lower my 97 sc300

It may or may not look lower, because the +97 SC's and up have a body kit. The body kit is really lower, and plus heavier.

Yeah, I think it is. On my 99 the wheel gap seems way smaller than pre 97. I'm on stock 16x7 and the wheel gap doesn't look bad at all.

So will lowering springs not lower my car as much as the springs advertise?

Only way to find out is if you go through with it, but it will drop an inch.

you also have to take in account that the older the vehicle the more the springs and shocks would sag due to old age or whether they have been replaced already. New struts and springs should have more wheel gap compared to a 92 with the same shocks it came from factory.

I am looking into lexus replacement parts and the 97+ shocks has different part numbers.
Including the strut mount, but I was told at least the front strut will go in properly in pre-97s.

so I think they are different and that might be the difference in ride height slightly lower.
Perhaps closer to Supra parts

how much "heavier" do you think the added plastic/polymer is!? surely not enough to make any difference once installed or removed.

based on what youre saying, if you took a pre 97 and a 97, both of which have never had their suspension changed up/maintained, the pre 97 would have older suspension thus more sag.
