IS300 Torsen LSD in a SC400
I am looking into replacing my open diff in my 98 SC400 with a Torsen LSD. I know that the Supra TT auto diff will work but I'm looking for another option. The IS300 ring gear is 200mm, the same as an SC400. The diff carriers are different and I know I'll have to install the IS300 diff in my SC carrier. Has anyone tried this with success or know of anyone who has done it.
Thanks for any info.

Sorry but it's not a part that will work on SC/MKIV/GS differentials but it has been tried in a recent thread. There are similarities but it's not quite the same internally or externally.
The IS300 Torsen diff is compatible with (and vice versa) MKIII Supras, Cressidas, IS250's (I can't remember if the IS350 diffs also work) and the FR-S and BRZ.
In the USA the only Torsen you can use is from a Supra TT Auto or the very rare MKIV NA LSD's.
The closest possible alternative is the Lexus IS-F Torsen LSD but it still isn't a direct fit and of course is probably even more expensive. The diff carrier is extremely similar to ours, unlike the IS300 and MKIII LSD diffs. Still, it also isn't exactly the same inside or outside.

Thanks for the info. Would you happen to know why it doesn't work (wrong spline, ring gear bolt pattern, bearing size, diff size?). I looked for an earlier post but can't find any info.
