During the rear shock install the shock got shoved and punctured the rear LCA boot. ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The grease was almost in liquid form leaking out. (probably broken down from age) I injected some synthetic grease back via the slit, then patched with FIPK, I feel either it's going to hold a long time, or not at all.
Is it difficult to remove the control arm and replace the boot (I don't know, energy suspension if it even fits?). I ask because the manual refer to some kind of SST..
Does that joint see a lot of movement?

it will last a while with a punctured boot, eventually dirt will work its way in there and you will start wearing the joint and it will start having play (it will start clunking then). after a while this leads to the joint popping out and you maybe crashing, but that would take a realllly long time of ignoring it.
i know the make boots for the front control arm lower ball joint, but i am not sure if it would be the same, otherwise you could just pop the ball joint out and replace the boot that way.
