This is a great thread - thanks for sharing!
I replaced the master cylinder/power booster assembly in my 2001 GS430 (220,000 miles) with one from a 2003 GS430 that I bought off of eBay for <$300. Mine worked well, before I replaced it, except for when starting out on cold (<20F) days. On those days, the dash lights and audible alarm would come on and not go off until the entire car had warmed up. The one from eBay works but, when I was bleeding the brakes, after replacing the master cylinder/booster pump assembly, I noticed there was a difference between the front and rear in that when bleeding the rear brakes with the key ON the booster pump would push fluid out the bleeder whereas when bleeding the front it didn't make a difference whether the key was ON or OFF. Is this normal?
I started out getting fluid to the nearest wheel (i.e. front drivers side) but once I had fluid pumping through the unit, I went back to starting at the right rear (furthest from the master cylinder) and worked my way back (RR, LR, RF and finally Left Front) to bleed the air out of the system. I definitely got all of the air out, I just am curious whether the booster pump should effect the front the same as the rear when bleeding the brakes. I have driven for two days with no issue (although its not very cold yet - so, I am not certain I am in the clear, yet).

Bumping an old thread.
So I know the SC430 is a direct swap, but I believe I heard that there were other cars would be direct swaps as well. Can anyone confirm? I think I heard the Avalon and possibly one of the Toyota SUVs? I can't remember which one, but hopefully someone can chime in and confirm.
Thanks,
