I had the same issue on my last car. Bolted one side down, lifted the other side up and bolted it down, then let the car down. Stayed that way for 2 years until I did a motor swap and had to do the same thing again to take it off and put it back on, nothing ever bent or broke.
If you add bushings you're adding more weak points to flex with the car, which takes away the whole point of the bar. If you do that don't bother, just adding weight for looks..

Lol at engineer cleanshots. I don't think "distribute flex" is what it's supposed to do. Where does it distribute this flex?
I'm willin to bet you don't drive your car hard enough to need the bracing. Why not invest in swaybars or solid bushings for stuff out back or something that's not gonna make working on the engine an extra time ordeal? Something that'll actually benefit you.

I have some back roads by where i so i do push just a teensy bit haha. I thouhht the strut bar would be a quick and easy upgrade thats why. Sway bars are next on my list though.
Any advice on short studs? If not thia thing will go tomorrow

well on our cars we have unequal length double control arms, an upper A wishbone and a lower L, so the upper A absorbs all the horizontal movement force , but a shock tower brace on this type of suspension helps absorb and spread out the vertical movement force by connecting both towers i.e. aston martins (Astons are far superior to our cars and yet they still felt the need to install a shock tower brace).
