Default 94 SC300 rear suspension troubles

Rear suspension is sagging by 2 inches on left side after normal right turn from roadway into steep driveway apron. Heard a crunching noise from the rear when this happened. Struts were replaced recently but seem completely shot now. I can't find new OEM rear coil springs for this vehicle anywhere on the planet, and really don't want to go the lowering spring route because I like the OEM ride and handling characteristics when things are right. Car has 145k miles, 5 speed tranny and runs beautifully otherwise. Anyone have a suggestion on a way forward?

I would order a new set of Tanabe springs. They give a one inch drop after the suspension settles. May I ask did you get Monroe struts? What Brand? Did you replace the top strut mounts?

Try this: Part number 48231A and 48231B and they are available.

Thanks for the replies. I went with KYB struts, not Monroe, and did NOT replace the top strut mounts. Is this an important component to replace when changing struts? I would have thought the shop would have advised me to do it while the patient was on the table.

Regarding the OEM springs, they are listed in all the dealer parts catalogs, but when ordered they are not available anywhere.

I did look at the Tanabe springs and saw that the drop is not too extreme. Is the ride comfort close to OEM?

Many thanks for the suggestions!

You can buy the springs from the link I posted.

I would suggest to ALWAYS buy new strut mounts when replacing the shocks. They are very important. It's essentially a rubber bushing and it gets weak. They clunk over bumps when they weaken.

Thanks for the reply, gtsfire. I will check into the springs again at the location you suggest.
