Default My 93' SC400 - Rear Brakes

Maybe I'm just not using the correct search criteria, or maybe there are hundreds of pages with thread discussions and things tend to get lost in the forum back pages. Regardless, I took my car to the shop and they did an hour diagnostics which I've since order parts to address the repairs that needed to be done (timing belt / water pump kit - new power steering pump - new p.s. high pressure hoses - new coolant reservoir - new o2 sensor - belt tensioner pulley)

I'm looking for rear brake ideas, DIY threads, Mods, any feedback would be great. Again, I've did some searching on the forum, but my search came up fruitless. So if any of the experts here have did brake mods.. Please share your links and / or recommendations.. Thanks in advance

I moved your thread for you. Check this section for brake questions and answers. For upgrades you can use the TT MKIV rear brakes. Direct bolt on and go. Not much difference in braking, mostly used for drifting. Use the LS400 95-2000 for the front or use the massive MKIV TT front ones also. These are both direct bolt on. You might have to use shorter bolts for the caliper, but that's it.

okay 1JZPWRD - thanks man... hopefully I can get some opinions here... You wouldn't happen to know what the sound I might be hearing when I go over bumps (at the front end) kinda sound like a crunching sound for lack of a better descriptions. Already replaced all 4 of the shocks about 10k miles ago. made absolutely no difference.

When you replaced the struts, did you replace the top strut mounts? Sometimes the inside rubber deteriorates over time and weather.

Also check the upper and lower control arm bushings, sway bar links, ball joints, and the four crossmember bolts for the subframe. Sometimes they work themselves loose. Check the obvious and report back. Coul dbe so many things, just check and recheck. Might also want to check the motor mounts and tranny mounts just to rule them out.
