I ended up getting the JIC SF1. lawman did a nice write up about them. The ride isn't all that bad, but it is noticeabley stiffer than stock. With a shorter suspension travel something has to give, in this case the dampening softness. If anyone is super concerend with softness then maybe the Tein CS is the way to go? I bought the SF1 and am satisfied enough with them at this point, hopefully when I go to a lower profile rim/tire the ride won't get all that much stiffer.

where is that write up?
i must agree with manaray, the jics seem like they are built better, more reliable. ive heard to many problems with tein systems ,rattling, uneveness. aslo i like a stiff ride so...

But, from my point of view, is trendy with every car out there having them just because of the name. If anyone could really give me the low-down between the two it would be of much help.

I really do not want to get in on this post, but I can tell you right now THAT THEY ARE NOT BUILT IN TAIWAN. They are built in JAPAN.

I can't say anything about the JIC's since I've never had set on any of my cars... but perhaps I will try it next time.
JIC's may be better but TEIN's aren't exactly junk either. I'm defending TEIN's because I own them and i am very satisfied with the quality of the build, functionality, etc etc. From my experience TEIN's don't have rattling, uneveness problems and no complaints that its too soft.
