I've always had athe problem with the 17's but I too am told that a swithc to wider tires should elilminate the prob lem. I would like to go to staggered 19's but cnat affford new 19's every 3 months. I hope they know what they are talking about with wider tires being a solution

I haven't seen anything said here about it, but on the TM website, they're showing a camber kit for 2nd gen GS coming in Sept '04!

Need for camber kit?
I'm just getting ready to set my car up, not sure what to expect. If I lower a 1998 GS 4 about 1"/1" front/rear with L-tuned shocks and springs and keep optional 235/45/17 wheels on it, is it likely I will run into camber problems requiring one of these mythical camber kits or not?

In my opnion, it is unlikely you will run into camber problems with that kind of set up. It wouldn't hurt to get the alignment done after installing the new shocks and springs. I had that exact same set up but I went much lower in the front.

actually the problem exist with the stock 17's (use the search and you'll see) Lowering the car will simply increase the issue. The lower you go the more negative it will be. Just rotate your tires. I have over 20k on a set of 19's and rotated them once after 10k. My rear tires wore worst than the front this year.
I used a TRD STB and it seemed to pull in the alignment a bit. Without it the alignment was off by 1 degree (very bad) With it i got it into spec. BTW, i have a 1.75" drop with L-sportline, one finger gap.
