The TeinHA's with Pillow Ball Uppers costs $1440...compared to the JIC-Magic SF-1's at $1500...as you can see, when you compare apples to apples, the price difference is much less...but the quality of the JIC units is better than the Tein units

As for the pillow ball uppers's function, here's a link to TEIN'S site...

http://www.tein.com/pumnt.html

Basically, it keeps the shock where it's suppose to be...with rubber upper mounts (or no mounts),. the shocks tend to "float" around causing sloppier/less precise suspension...of course, the HA is still worlds better than stock but I prefer having pillowball uppers on my coilovers...my GS430 has Tein FLEX which have pillowball uppers (and I might be changing this out to the JIC FLT-A2's soon) and my SC400 has the JIC SF-1 which also have pillowball uppers...

the FLT-A2s are reaaaalllly nice they arent very harsh on the street at all, if you dont lower the car too much and your spring rate isnt too stiff they ride like a nice set of springs, but oh lord once the turning begins... thats when the fun starts!

I'm not sure what they are going for on the GS or SC, I think they were about 1600

That's why I'm looking into getting them for my GS....based on the SF-1's, I have fully confident that the FLT-A2's won't disappoint....as for the price, it's $1950 list....
