Default Thinking about changing Brake Calipers

Hi,

I have a 2009 Lexus IS 250. I want to change the calipers (front and rear) to red ones. Can someone assist me on what parts to buy and the steps on how to change the calipers?

I am pretty new to the DIY on the car. Thank you so much.

Are you talking about painting them? If so, pretty simple. Get some of this.

If you intend to keep the factory calipers and not upgrade them, you'll simply need to apply paint to yours. I used Duplicolor products, with excellent results. Some use a "G2" product. Both get the job done.

I am not thinking about painting them... I am thinking about replacing them with red ones and upgrading them to better ones.

Upgrade them to IS350 4piston brakes, they are way more affordable and look quite good. Lots of non-Lexus people thought my IS350 have a big brake kit lol

That budget fits right on with the IS350 4 piston calipers, rotors, pads upgrade. If you want Brembo, Stoptech or F Sport BBK, I'm afraid you need much more money.

^And even at that budget, getting the IS350 kit you'd still need to paint the calipers red.

do you have the link to the product that I need to buy specifically for the upgrade? I searched online. They come in 2, either front or rear. I have to buy front and rear separately? And if I upgrade my brakes, rotors, calipers do i need to change my tires or it doesn't matter?

thanks!

Sewell Lexus (clublexus vendor as well as actual Lexus dealership) sells the IS350 front brake kit upgrade which includes calipers, rotors, and pads. http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2012/2045.html If you run on OEM wheels and tires, they should clear the front no problem so you don't need to change anything. You still need to paint it with the color you like for the look. I highly recommend G2 caliper paint kit. I have it on my car for 3 years and it still looks like new.
Make sure you add your ClubLexus screenname to your Sewell account to receive BIG discount from them.

You do not need to upgrade the rear and I don't advice doing that because the IS250 rear looks almost like the IS350 rear.

I'm actually doing an IS350 front brake upgrade for my IS250 in the mean time too.

If they are 18inch from Lexus, they should fit.
