Default Rear Knuckle Bushing help!

I have a rear squeak took it to the shop
the right rear knuckle bushing is worn

shop quoted me $450 to replace it
he said that they had to send the knuckle to a machine shop
to press out the bushing......

However i see figs sells the replacement bushing
and according to the instructions its simple to press out the old and replace.

Has anyone replaced these bushings??

which bushing are you exactly talking about? i changed the ones that sit in the lca and connect to the rear knuckle with a big c-clamp, basically on-vehicle in around 1.5hrs per site.
Tool Tool
there is also a diy-guide somewhere in the suspension subforum

I've replaced mine. A bit of a hassle with the handheld press. If you got air tools then it should be a cool.

Putting in the new one is the hard part lol

I just installed mine, the ROCA ones (listed for IS300 but is the same)

Used an air hammer to get them out after heating the knuckle with propane.

Froze the bushings a couple hours in the freezer and then heated the knuckle again - BAM, air hammer drove them right in.

Word of caution, tried this without the heating/cooling and NO GO.

did you have an attachment on the airhammer that goes on the casing? that sounds pretty handy. or did you just use a socket? eitherway, great idea. i wish i thought of that. haha

air hammer saved me when i was doing diff bushings though. what a long day that was
