Default Rear suspension banging

I have a very loud banging noise coming from my rear suspension. Sometimes it's a rapid staccato noise that sounds like one of those wooden dolls on a stick that you shake. I read a much as I could find here and there didn't seem to be a clear suspect for this problem. Or maybe there are a variety of problems. I just replace the struts with Kayaba G2s and new strut mounts, not Kayaba although the noise was there before the swap. All the links and joints and bushings seem to be fine. But as I was driving around today it occurred to me that the noise was coming from the strut mounts were loose and banging against underside of their mounting circle in the trunk. Is that possible? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Bix

I never shook a wooden doll on a stick, but I would recheck all the bolts and nuts that you worked on, (3 bolts on the top of the strut tower and the middle shock bolt), then check your shocks and rear control arm bushings as well as the bottom shock bolt along with the sway bar links, tighten those up!
Depending on the year, some of the rear strut mounts tend to rust in this region make sure yours are healthy with good rubbers!!
