Superpro Sway Installation and Impressions
Hello CL members!
I thought I would share my SuperPro swaybar install, and my issue...
Installing sways on this car is really easy.
First you need sways . I bought some superpro sways from figs
The front sways have a lot of plastic covering. Just remove all the body screws
Front sways have a lot of plastic shrouding
You will need a 12mm and a 14mm socket to replace the front and rear sways
4 nuts hold the sway to the end link (two each side)
4 bolts hold the sway bar to the body (two each side).
I took pics, but honestly, you can't really mess it up.
The front superpro sway doesn't seem to be much larger in diameter, but it is significantly heavier. Obviously solid..
The superpro kit comes with grease, poly bushings, and a sticker...
It's a shame I now have to cover up the pretty blue bar with some plastic now...
Okay, now with the issue.
The stock rear sway is tiny compared to the superpro. The bushings provided with the rear sway are just flat out too big. I was going to reuse the stock bushing, but the superpro bar is too big for it.
Here is a pic of me trying to fit the bushing...
What I finally ended up doing was getting some longer M8 1.25 (30mm) bolts and just clamping the bushing down on one side with the stock bolt, other side with the long bolt tightening them down until the bushing compressed, and the lock washers flattened...fitment be damned. I can always trim the excess and make it fit, and I have emailed Figs for their opinion. Maybe superpro sent the wrong bushings...?
You might know the superpro rear sway has 3 holes where the end link can attach for 3 different settings of tightness. Well, after the bushing issue I chickened out and picked the middle hole.
After all that I took the car for a spin. Handles better. Yup! I've had aftermarket sways on other cars so I wasn't expecting it to transform into a sports car, but with the coilovers and sways, it boogies. Soon I will get new end links and put the rear sway on its tightest setting. Hopefully after I get the correct rear sway bushings
Thanks for reading this far. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll keep you posted as to what Figs says about the bushings.
Update...figs emailed me like ten minutes after this post. They are investigating what the issue is. I'm sure they will fix it.

I had the exact same issue when doing the rear. What I ended up doing was tightening one bolt enough to hold in place and then using my floor jack to lift the bracket up and push it up enough for me to get the second bolt in and tightened.

Guys, i just installed my Rear Sway today from figs and Mike had to send me out smaller 19mm bushings.... The ones that came with the rear sway i could not get to fit... Well now the new bushings fit perfectly and he has to change the bushings out to the ones he sent me for future orders....

Are your bushings oriented right? When I sent mike a picture of mine he said they were facing the wrong the direction and that the lip part should be facing the ground. Your picture looks like the lip is up towards the car. I just looked at my rear bushing and the lip is on the bottom?

the stock bushings had the thicker side facing up also.
