i know this topic has been discused in the past, but i thinkj its worth mentioning. i heard the tein ha set up is too stiff? then i heard its the most common set up if you want a considerable drop. my question is does anyone know what the tein ha set up retails? anywhere to buy it? and finnally, i heard mix reviews about installing them yourself. they come with instructions right? i was told it could be done yourself, and i was also told the front or the rear need special tools to compress the coilover so it will fit. i would really like to do this myself, any suggestions???

last time I checked you can get it new and installed for under $1000.
you're in the bay area, right? try exact motorsports. www.exactmotorsports.com
I believe you can also order them from Steve at Carson Toyota.
in terms of stiffness, I can say that setting them at the softest is softer than the HR/Bilstein combo.
installation...first I believe the instructions are in japanese. If you can read it or get a hold of the english version, I think the special tool you need is a spring compressor to remove the springs you currently have on. I believe you can rent one of these at a local Kragen Auto Parts store. I was thinking of installing mine myself also, but exact was doing installs for $180 so it was pretty easy for me to decide and have them do it.
Hope that helps you out. Good luck.

tein ha at 0/0 to me is about the same as the stiffness settings on flex. i have 7/5 on my ha and it's ok, not horrible. but yes, stiff. i want more road feel and more performance feeling so it's good for me. if you are not used to stiff ride you might think it's ha, it depends.
flex is a lot softer and closer to stock ride. the price is about right, flex is a bit more expensive.
