Default LS400 brake upgrade buying decisions

Hi all,

I've done much researching into the ls400 brake upgrade. Just a few lingering questions regarding calipers.

Looking at remanufactured calipers on rockauto, is there any specific brand that would be better than the others? Do the "loaded" caliper kits include all the fitting and shim compenents required? Is there any other places that you would recommend buying reman. calipers from? ex. AutoZone?

I'm ordering R1 Concepts "eline" rotors and then I'll decide what pads to use. After I get all the components for the LS400 front, I'll look to see what I need to replace for the rear brakes. Hopefully just new pads.

Thanks in advance for the input!

I bought mine from AutoZone, they were Sumitomo. They came unloaded, so I had to get pads (OEM). They looked good and work great.

Thanks for the reply. Did you reuse your old brake shims? Glad that they're working out for you

I believe the new pads came with new shims. Honestly though, I had the work done at the dealership that I work at. I gave him everything that I bought and he had it all put together by the time I got off that day. Hope that helps, good luck with your swap.
