Exclamation Burnish / bed in brakes experts

So I got all new rotors and pads for my F, I did what I thought was right to bed in the pads, but must have not done it correctly as now when I do light stops above 50 mph got ( what I used to think was warped ) a good bit of vibration in the wheel, ( front brakes)....so I have read that this is just uneven pad material transfer to the rotor....how can I correct this??....do I need to remove rotors and scuff them up with something ???... rotors are raybestos / pads are stoptech street performance

It could be. The bedding procedure is not the same for all brake pads. If you bed in brake pads that are not track (high temp) oriented using the drive at high speed method than brake hard, slow down, and repeat and repeat it could overheat the pad and transfer more of the pad material to the rotors than is necessary causing pad deposits. Yes, I believe the rotors should be scuffed. Shouldn't be too tough.

You didn't mention your type or manufacturer of your pads, but they should have the proper bed in procedure on their web site.

StopTech's procedure is here:

http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...res/bed-in-faq

Looks like NOT MUCH Just remove the wheel and just remove the high spots with some very lightly abrasive emery cloth.

to remove the build up.....do this by hand??? or with a drill and sanding wheel, I have no idea if this comes off easy ...or is very difficult to remove

^^^^By Hand should be fine. Just enough to remove any high spots, you should be able to feel them.
