Caster & Control Arm Bushings
Mods – please close this thread if this has been brought up before. I searched and couldn’t find anything.
I was doing my research on control arm bushings from different vendors, should I get rubber or poly, etc. And from what I’ve read on the forum, people generally never have anything bad to say about FIGS products. Their bushings are definitely pricey but it’s cheaper to do the job correctly (with the right parts) the first time than it is to go back, spend more money on new parts and the labor involved in redoing it.
On the FIGS website they mention that their control arm / caster bushings are made by a company called SuperPro. A set of caster arm (non adj) bushings cost $180.00 and control arm bushings are $79.
Caster:

Control Arm:
http://www.shopfigs.com/v1/index.php...product_id=239
Then I was poking around on energysuspensionparts.com and I think I stumbled on the same exact parts for much cheaper. Caster bushings for $90 and control arm bushings for $51.
Caster (need to special ordered. Will ship direct from SuperPro) :

Control Arm:
http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/spf4186k
So, are these the same bushings??

Hey sorry, they did come in and I got them installed.
I mentioned in my first post that I couldn't find anyone that had mentioned the superpro control arm bushings but I searched again and found this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...r-bushing.html
But anyway, I got them installed and it feels great. Definitely more feed back coming up through the steering wheel and the car actually keeps its composure around turns.
Being a cheap *** I Installed them myself and the hardest part was getting the old bushings out. The control arms noticeably more difficult than the caster arms. First torched them to burn the rubber out. Then used a chisel to separate the metal outer ring from the arm itself. Then pounded away till the bushing fell out. I wish I had an air chisel, it would have made my life easier. Also with these you don't necessarily need a press to get them into the control arms. The bushings are split so you can push them in from both sides.
Here are some pictures of the bushing themselves:

Awesome, glad it worked out for you...unfortunately my cars are on "stilts" now so I need to get the parts fast. I'm replacing all 4 struts and on the front the bj, outer tie rod, sway bar link, rotors, pads and caster arm bushing. Pretty much everything is done except the caster arm bushing and waiting for the rotors to come in.
