Parking brake/e brake handle removal
Hey whats up? I have already put a momo wood wheel and custom wood grain shifter in my manual sc300, now this brake handle is all chewed up looking and ugly sticking out like a sore thumb. How can I remove it? I want to send it off to my wood guy to make me a matching one with my shifter.

Just did it this week. Pretty straight forward.
The boot has a piece of velcro on the driver's seat side of the handle. Reach in from the back of the boot and pull the velcro apart, then the whole thing slides over the handle.
There are two big bolts (14mm, I believe) down at the bottom that hold it to the tranny tunnel. They're ridiculously long, so you may need a ratcheting wrench or something instead of a socket, unless you want to go to the trouble of removing the seat to get more room.
The cable has two 10mm or maybe 12mm bolts holding it to the assembly, then it wraps around and slides into a groove with two more 10mm nuts that lock against each other. Use a 10mm wrench through the window at the left side of the console cup holder (which you've removed) on the lower nut, then the top one will break free easily with a socket from above. You can now slide the cable out from below. You also need to bend back a little metal tab with a flathead screwdriver so it can be removed.
The last piece is the plunger/sensor that's held on by one 10mm bolt.

The only part I would consider more than mildly difficult was having to keep my foot on the brake the whole time, since I'm on too steep of a hill to do work on the e-brake otherwise. A big ratcheting wrench makes it a piece of cake, but a box wrench wouldn't be much more difficult, just time consuming. No need to remove the seat.
