Default Want to upgrade my suspension now.

Ive been thinking this over and I think I am going to go with the L-tuned upgrade....how much of a drop will I get in my car. I realistically cannot see my car getting much lower than it already is. I am already having a problem fitting a jack under my car. What should this cost me? Should I think about any other alternatives?

Thanks,
Jack

$550 maybe for springs/shocks and $350-$500 for install/alignment.

ride and comfort and performance all depend on what you get. you mentioned the L-tuned, and that'll give you the least drop and isn't too far a deviation from the stock ride and comfort. hence, it ain't a big performance gain either. of course, then the shocks chime in as well. but most springs won't kill your ride and comfort, unless you get some really low ones. plus, your wheels/tires really determine ride and comfort as well....and noise

Jackco - L-Tuned springs/shocks reduce the amount of 'float' and body roll considerably and make almost no difference in comfort in my opinion. The car feels a lot more composed, especially at higher speeds and when hitting road dips/bumps especially on curves (less oscillations, more damped). It's a great transformation.

It won't turn your car into a Porsche, so don't worry.

Default suspension

Jacko,

I ordered my L-Tuned shocks and spring from Steve Ganz as mentioned above. $500 +$25 shipping to NYC. They go in tomorrow, can't wait. I also ordered Daizen Sway bar bushings ($30). The sways were out of stock and $470 more money. I ordered these from TM Engineering (Todd).. Todd was extremely helpful. When I asked him if the stock Lexus suspension rates a 0 for body roll and adding Daizen Sways are a 10 to prevent body roll, where do just the Daizen bushings rate...He said a 3... A noticeable difference according to him. For $30 bucks you can't go wrong. Good Luck,

Scott

Default suspension

Jacko,

I have heard, on this board that it takes anywhere between 1.5 hrs- 5 hrs. depending on who is doing it. Huge swing...Dealer said it would take them 5hrs @ $85/hr....I decided to have a local mechanic do it ..He quoted me 4 hrs. at $60/hr..He is suppose to be very good..Plus a four wheel alignment which you will need after you put the l-tuned on....Four wheel alignment in my area is $80..I would guess a fair estimate for install ( inlcuding alignment) on the east coast is $300-$500...For some reason it's cheaper in Cali.?

Jacko,

I think I am right that you need to get the install done at a Lexus dealer to maintain the Lexus warranty on the suspension. If the Lexus dealers in your area are as good as they are around here, you should be able to get a reasonable installation cost. After all, you are modding a fairly expensive car. Don't skimp on installation. Some folks have had alignment problems, and you may wish you had dealt with Lexus. Just a caveat. Good luck with your mods!

Why not spend a little more and get coilovers. I think you will be a lot more satisfied with them.
