Bob, You are the man!! I will pull a rim off tomorrow and e mail you the info on the wheel. I know for sure its a 20", 8.5 wide, +37 offset, but I will give you the entore number in the afternoon/
I cant tell you how much I appreciate this, I would hate to shell out the cash for brakes that dont fit.

SoCalSC4 - very interesting, thanks! After reading your post, I immediately put my car on the jack and took off the front wheel
. Actually I'd been planning to do it all week to try out the StopTech template on the rim to see if those brakes will fit! But I wanted to find the serial # too! I'd not noticed any serial numbers when I'd originally put on my rims so I had a momentary panic that I'd bought some knock-offs.
Anyway, my rim # is F-26348.
So guys, while I had the rim off, I decided to do some brake checking and I took some pictures.
For reference, my front rim is 19x8.5 with (I'm told) an offset of +38 and it's high disc (right SoCalSC4?).
First, here's the StopTech template (yes it says IS300 on it, but apparently it's the same one for the IS and GS).

While I had the rim off, I decided to look for rubbing since I suspected it was happening a little with my 245/40-19's and sure enough...

So what's behind that 'bump' in the plastic fender well cover?

FYI, my G2 caliper paint is still in really good shape after maybe a year...

This is how much clearance from the stock caliper I have with my wheel fitment (for your comparison) - about 1.5":

I am a good guy to ask because I do all of the R&D for HRE (my title here is "Technical Specialist"), and I have made detailed drawings of many popular cars. I also keep detailed files of most popular brake upgrades- in fact, I have a set of Supra brake calipers in my garage. Fortunately, I took a few measurements before I threw the used rotors in the 'can.
Chances are, your front 20" 540s are "high disk"... we typically build them this way because customers who will coin-up for a set of HREs will typically upgrade their brakes at some point. It's difficult to give a for-sure "yes they will fit" as an off-hand response- since all of our wheels are made to order, sometimes people will ask for special offsets, the deepest possible lip (which would compromise big brake clearance), or unusual widths for fender flares or widebody vehicles.
Can you read me the engraving on the back of the wheel?
The first number will be something like F-24083: this represents a Front wheel, and Work Order #24083.
The second number is more critical, perhaps something like 5H20P377015: this tells me the style , diameter, offset, and rim components used to construct the wheel. Based on this, I can give you an accurate answer to your question.
BTW, when it comes to measuring caliper overhang, for comparison purposes, I measure the caliper overhang from the wheels' mounting surface (aka "rotor hat" or "brake hat"), not from the rotor surface (where the brake pads touch).
The stock Supra caliper has 1.550" (39mm) of overhang from the rotor hat. The back of our wheel spokes are curved to maximize the amount of allowable brake overhang- if your wheels have a 1.5" outer lip (as I suspect they do), I am 100% certain they will clear the Supra calipers- and the StopTech, Brembo, and Stillen kits, for that matter.
Feel free to post here (I will check back), or e-mail me at bobh@hrewheels.com

What big brakes do you think won't fit if I can get 14" StopTech's under them!?!?!

bit, I must have high disk also if yours are, because that is almost exactly the measurement that I have from the stock caliper to my spokes. I have a template for the new Rotoras, Im going to try them out tomorrow and see what I come up with.
How much are the Stoptechs, and where can I find info on them?

StopTech fronts are $2200 list I think - but check their web site.
Also, you've mentioned about not being sure if you like the Rotara caliper colors - why not just paint them if you don't like the color?
