I thought about that, but Im kinda thining that if Im paying $1500 for a set of brakes that I could at least have a factory finish on them that I like. You know if I oaint them, the finish will not look as good as they do from the factory.

Whats up with the RMM brake upgrade, is that basically the Supra TT set up with the RMM logo on them? ANy feedback on them at all, I have never heard of anyone using them.

yup the rmm is supra tt upgrade, exact same thing

so bit, the supra tt fits behind the 540r you have? umm..... if that's the case, then i guess most brake upgrades WILL fit under the wheel.

The person I bought the rims from told me he had Supra brakes on his GS so unless he wasn't being straight with me I have to assume they will fit. Steve from Carson said ya have to be able to get at least 2 fingers width between the spoke and the caliper for Supra brakes . Not very scientific but I can almost get 3 fingers back there except I will kinda break my hand gettin' it in there.

TTurboPimp: So, do you want the good news first? Or the good news?

I've run the numbers here again- your 20s will easily clear any brake upgrade I can find for the GS: Supra/Brembo/StopTech/Stillen... no problem! It's what we refer to as a "slam dunk" fitment.

The same goes for you, Bitkahuna: I am guessing your 19Rs have the 1.5" outer lip as well. Since the HRE 540R version wheels use basically the same centers as our 'standard rim' 20" 540 wheels, so you have the same amount of brake clearance as TTurboPimp. Purchase aftermarket brakes with confidence.

I'll give a quick shout-out to Manaray on this one- his GS was the first one we ever did with big brakes.

rominl: I'll shoot you an e-mail later today

Hope this has helped!

Regards,
Bob

You scared me for a brief second with the "Do you want the good news first" thing, I had to read it twice to realize you were kdding!

Thats great news, I really appreciate your help on this, "Slam Dunk", you cant get any more sure than that!

Now that I know they all will fit, I geuss I need to do some research on which one I want.

Thanks again.

Hehe, looks like we're in the same boat, bud. My current thoughts/preferences are StopTech 4 wheel package (huge dough), StopTech front wheel package, Brembos, or Rotara.

Im leaning towards trying out the Rotora's based on price alone. I called them directly and talked to them a little about the brakes, they "seem" to know what theyre talking about, but then again Im no brake expert to know any better. I would love to go with the Brembo or AP Racing set ups, but the bottom line is Im not road racing the car, the extra cash would be overkill in my opinion.

I might be the Rotora guinea pig!
