I have a line on a set of used 1998 18,000 mile tt brakes. They include four calipers, four rotors, and all the pads (about 3,000 miles on the pads).
Would there be any problems or issues I might have with buying these used? I know I've had cars with bad calipers that pulled to one side before.
Any idea on the going rate for something like this?

it helps to know the owner, you can screw up brakes in 1000 miles if you're so inclined ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
people are paying 600 or so for the front brakes, so maybe 800 for all?? not sure, I paid about that for mine then I got them rebuilt to be sure of their condition

I have chrome tt rims so fitment is not the problem.
I'm just wondering how much the used brakes would go for. I know brand new what I listed runs about $800

Offer him 600$ for everything and install them. If they don't work right - pull them and rebuild them or have them rebuilt. That's what I would do.

tggoodrich,
Extreme1300 wanted $800 for them a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if he's willing to go down from that. But like awj said offer him $600, Personally I would offer him $500 just for all 4 calipers and get new rotors and low dust pads. Polished TT rims and OEM pads = visible brake dust 2 days after car wash. Brembo/Bradi rotors don't cost too much if you are not buying x-drilled/slotted but be sure to get the zinc plating.
Regards

This is kinda off topic, but when installing supra TT brakes, do you need the supra TT brake cover? Or do most people just take that off?

Are you referring to the plastic brake dust cover? If you are, it is not needed- just scrap it.

Yeah, just get rid of that useless thing. That looks like a pic I've seen recently of someone selling used tt brakes- was it from ebay? That guy said the rust was normal from the rain and stuff, but those things look like they were pulled from the junkyard after 2 years!
