Default Where to find hood shocks

OK so I am sick of the stupid rod that supports my hood. Not that I am ever under my hood that much but it still erks me just knowing that it is there. Can anyone tell me where I could find some shocks that would fit on the IS seeing as how, ridiculasly, they don't come with them stock? Has anyone done this or attempted this before? And how big of a pain in the neck is it? Thanks in advance!

This mod will require some drilling to the hood and the engine bay by the fender, plus you will have to tap the thread for the bolts that support the shock. They used the hood rod to reduce the cost and I think it's last longer. I've seen a lot of hood shocks go bad and they cost a few hundred dollars to replace.

im looking for the same thing as in this thread, just curious if anybody else has any ideas

i found this:
http://www.figsprops.com/hoodliftkits.htm

i also found some by nrg that are done with oil instead of gas which i think would be better as with my rx 300 the gas ones dont do crap in the winter but they dont have any listed for the is 300, so i emailed them asking if any of the ones they do make would fit

anyway anybody else got any other ideas to accomplish this?
