Before i hire a mechanic who will most like take advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars, what needs to be changed? I was driving one day and my wheel just broke off! A friend of mine said they were my upper control arms but I think its more than that after i took the wheel off.

Just the lower ball joint, once you look at a picture of one it will make sense. Look the part up under a 2001-2005 because it is the updated ball joint

You also may or may not need a new abs/speed sensor. All depends on if the wire stretched far enough to break.
