Nope no idea who makes them. I just know that my G37S stops much better than my IS and they are about the same weight and I have Akebono ceramics all the way around but I have 2 piston calipers on the rear which my IS doesn’t which tells me the number of pistons matter more.

yes more pistons shorter braking. I’m fimliar with your infinity, it’s the friction energy cause from the pistons that make your car stops well, sometime not the ceramic pads but akebono is a very good brand

I'd be doing jumping jacks with bells around my neck if i could get 18k out of a set of pads. I'm changing mine about once a year or every 10-11k.

The pads are $55 for a stock set, they're a German brand, (extremely premium) and the rotors will last roughly about every 1.5 pad sets. (or if you want to run your pads ALL the way down--i wouldn't recommend it)

I'm replacing my pads and rotors for a total of $164 out the door every time they need changing (for front set)

Extremely economical. Extremely easy. Fun too.

The number of pistons on a caliper simply spreads the clamping force over a broader area of the pad/rotor interface. Particularly for cars with larger brakes or larger pads. It does not necessarily mean your car will stop faster. There's plenty of single piston cars that brake shorter and harder than our twin piston 3IS.

the bigger difference will be tire/wheel size, abs algorithm (tuning), and alignment.

how fast you can brake effectively repeatedly then will come down to heat management and pad formula. (aside from a few other things too)

I believe you have an F Sport. If so, I highly suggest you use the parts listed in the TSB for low speed squeal.
Don't ask me how I know.

By the way, that price is a ripoff.

wow, didn't realize toyota products were getting that close to mercedes benz prices. for 950 or 850 with coupon i would think they are replacing those front rotors too, which are aluminum for some reason. any mercedes slr owners here? those damn carbon fiber rotors were 12k a piece. back to the fsport, if you bought the pads, shims, and aluminum rotors from toyota/lexus parts counter what would the price be? figure 2 hours of your own time if you got the tools and know how i would think you can save at minimum 300 to 400 dollars.

Thumbs up Longevity of Breaks

My 2013 300H is still running on the original brakes. Miles at 125,000. They just told me on the last oil change that I still have 6/32 of brake pads left on the front. I am expecting to get at well over 150,000 miles out of original breaks. 6/32 of an inch break pad left is about half what they started at 12/32. Still on original battery. I have had no maintenance done on this car, but changing the oil every 10,000 miles and changing the air filter once. Never a warranty repair nor any other. the most dependable auto I've ever owned. And I have owned over 40 vehicles in my lifetime.
