IS350C - Time for brakes - pads only or rotors too? - what brands?
We have a 2010 IS350C with 62,000 miles on it. Rear brakes are at 3mm, so I have to make some quick decisions. I'm going to do all four when I do them because the fronts aren't that far behind.
I think my rotors are still factory -- never been changed.
Overwealming number of choices here: https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/20...e_pad_set.html
My questions:
Pads only --or-- Pads + turn rotors --or-- Pads + new rotors?
OEM vs aftermarket?
What material are the OEM pads? (Organic, Semi-Metallic, Ceramic?)
What material would you buy when replacing them?
Note that I have an "aggressive but not racing aggressive" driving style and I'm a bit hard on brakes.
Thanks!

Replacing the rotors depends on the thickness of the rotors. If they are nearing minimum spec, then I would go ahead and replace the rotors too. If they have a good amount of thickness left, no need to replace them. I never resurface my rotors either when I replace my pads. I have centric slotted rotors and akebono pads and I am satisfied with them. I used to but OEM rotors but the last front set warped prematurely so I decided to go a different route.

I don't notice any dust compared to the OEM pads which blackened my wheels and caused them to start having rust pits.
buy a electronic measuring calipers and measure your rotors and pads.
As far as I know, this will be the first time the pads have been replaced on this car, unless they got replaced right before we bought it. So, I would expect the rotors to be full thickness. Worst case, turned once if the pads were replaced once prior to us owning it.
