Default IS250 F-Sport Brake Identification

Hi -

I bought my 2012 IS250 pre-owned in 2015 and from the dealer it had upgraded brakes, I assumed they were F-Sport branded brakes, as it had other F-Sport upgrades (exhaust, intake, etc.). This year I had to have the brakes maintenanced for the first time, and the Lexus dealership told me they were Brembo brakes and I would have to go somewhere else to get them maintenanced (new pads, rotors). I went to a Meineke and they told me they were, in fact, F-Sport brakes that were no longer being made. Back to Lexus, they told me that the brakes are "racing brakes" that can't be maintenanced at all and would have to be completely replaced ($3,000 per axle). Having been given three different opinions as to how I can get the brakes serviced, I was wondering if anyone here can properly identify what brakes are on the car (and hopefully suggest an option for servicing them cheaper than $3k per axle). If they are F-Sport branded brakes, I was under the impression that they could be serviced with StopTech ST60/40 pads and rotor rings. Thanks for any help everyone.

buy the rotors and pads and replace them yourself. No need to replace the entire caliper unless they issues.

Okay sure that makes sense. I guess I was just looking for confirmation that they're actually F-Sport brakes that will be compatible with the StopTech replacement stuff. Rather pay $700 or whatever per axle for pads and rotors than $3k for Lexus to replace the entire kit

There is the Fsport big brake kit and than the Fsport package brakes. Can you measure the rotor size? And just because they sell the brand doesn’t necessarily mean they know everything about them. They see the drilled rotors and may assume something that it’s totally not and than feed you bad information.

For sure, I would bet that they don't service very many of the drilled rotors compared to the stock brakes. I measured the rotor to be about a 13 inch diameter for the rear axle, hopefully that helps - I was totally unaware there were two different Fsport brake options

Appreciate the resources! What I gathered from this is that the ~13" rear rotor measurement that I have matches up with the big brake kit you linked in the eBay listing. I see that they're also selling the pads for the brake kit but I don't see rotor rings that I would need. Wondering if the StopTech rotor rings would work with that kit

These are in fact the Lexus F-Sport big brakes. Lexus can get the parts to service them.

PTR09-53111 - Pad Set, Front Brake
PTR09-53103 - Pad Set, Rear Brake

PTR09-53084 - Front Rotor, RH
PTR09-53090 - Front Rotor, LH
PTR09-53085 - Rear Rotor, RH
PTR09-53091 - Rear Rotor, LH

These parts all have stock in the USA. Other service replacement parts are also available if needed.

This is fantastic information, I really appreciate it. Will for sure use these parts numbers. Given the the $820 price on each rotor, I guess 3k wasn't as far off as I thought after all. Still, would definitely prefer to pay $345 per rotor from StopTech if those parts are interchangeable

StopTech made the kit for Lexus, so they should likely have something that will work, but it may be best to contact them directly.

AFAIK front rings should be 355mm and rear should be 345mm but I'm not sure about compatibility with ISF

Just resurrecting this thread, has anyone got a good (inexpensive) link to buy the stop tech rings/rotors aftermarket? I've seen $275-$400 for what appears to be the same thing. The front's are 355mm x 32mm and the rear's are 345mm x 28mm.

Thanks!
