Default squeaking noise from brakes

I am getting this loud sqealing noise from my brakes every time I go in reverse.
It also happen for the first few seconds when I go forward until I tap the brakes once or twice.
It seems as if something is sticking and not releasing the brake pads all the way back.
Any suggestions?

- What kind of pads are your running?
- How many miles on them, the pads?
- Is is all brakes, or just one on front or rear? It might be a wear indicator, or a sticky parking brake. Look to be sure so you don't screw up your rotor.

I am using the oem pads and they have about 20k on them.

It seems to be coming from the rear wheels only and my rotors look ok.

If i creep at about 5 mph it squeals and if I tap the brakes it stops making noise. Is there something that needs to be lubricated?

check to see if you have any more pad left... I think 20k miles you probably need new pads...

Did you install these yourself? Check the fit and shim kit on the brakes. I had a similar noise and it was a bent shim. You might need new pads anyway though.

The pads should be fine, but i'll double check. The bent shim sounds like it might be my problem. Is this easy to fix?

Messy-

I had the exact same problem. I even put new pads all the way around. Same squeakiness. I ended up putting a new shim kit on the front brakes. Problem solved!!!
