there are a lot of good brands out there. I guess it comes down to personal preference and how much you want to spend.
I use the Akebono ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pad Set, and they have been great so far. im using them with a cheap set of stoptech cross drilled rotors
my car is driven regularly from sacramento to reno and vice versa. so it see's everything you mentioned- freeway driving and traffic jams.
but hey if you got the money definitely look into brembo, ksport, and baer

I would say you can't go wrong with either unmolested oem replacement rotors, (search via their partnumber), or stoptech/centric plain style rotors. cryo stopetch/centrics if you brake aggressively etc, slotted/drilled as personal preference.
As far as pads go, Akebono's seem like a very popular option, I know ebc redstuff and yellow stuff is popular (based on driving style), hps, or even unmolested oem pads.
I can't say too much about the wear on pads, as I recently got new rotors and pads.

Just dont cheap out on your brakes and get quality parts. Memorial Day is right around the corner for some possibly great deals

I currently have Stoptechs with F sport pads. Got them cause I needed them in a pinch and got them on sale half price of OEM--figured why not. They brake fine but cause groaning noise, 1,200 miles in and with proper bedding procedure.

At next brake change, I'm going back to professional Lexus Rotors and professional high friction F Sport pads. (stock!)

i would go for the akebenos or low dust lexus oem brake pads, the f sport versions just grip too hard for stop and go traffic.

Sorry to bump this old post but would you recommend the Cryo-treated rotors over the premium Centric?
Wife's car, daily driver.

Centric 125.44125CRY or 125.44125

are the 2 parts numbers i'm looking at. $50 more for the Cryo ones but didnt know if they actual help or last any longer.

If she drives super aggressively then I'd suggest cryo. If she drives like every other person on the road non cryo is fine.
