Default IS-F Rear Bar on AWD Setup

Anyone running an IS-F rear bar can post up pics?
Im trying to see if any rubbing issues for an AWD. As I'm currently running the F-sport 19mm rear bar. It makes the tail end a little too happy for my setup. Paired with the chassis brace. I was thinking the 17mm bar could make a slight difference. Also the RWD/AWD X50 should be the same rear subframe?

Pretty sure it'd work. The F sport rear bar fits both RWD and AWD models iirc - was just the front that's different. I plan on bringing it over to the ISF if I ever make the switch one day.

Quoted from the Sway Bar thread -
"If you have an AWD and are going to an AWD, there will be no issues. If you are going to a RWD the rear will fit but the front won't (you'll need the brackets and bolts from your 07 rear as well, unless your 11-13 is a Sport Package/F-Sport model).
That said, if you are going from a RWD to a RWD, the front can fit as long as you keep your original front end links and also provided you don't have HID's on either car, because the leveling sensor mounts to a different point (sway bar on 06-08 cars, control arm on 09-13 cars).

Yes the fsport fits just fine they are interchangeable. The original AWD Has the hump facing the ground VS the ISF the hump faces the differential bushing mounts. I just wanted to check if it would hit for any reason.

It shouldn't be an issue. The rear suspension/trunk floor is the same for all 2IS models (AWD or RWD).

Thanks,
Jeff are the stock ISF bushings the same material as the Fsport bushings? I ask because the stock AWD rear bushings seem to be about the same 75 duro as my FSport's. The fronts are just flimsy rubber.

I'm not sure on the rear IS F bushings; for the front the IS F has much nicer bushings than the F-Sport (textured surface, metal insert, lubricated). I had clunking noise issues with the F-Sport ones, the IS F bushings are much higher quality.

Again, I am not sure on the rear.

Meatal inserts? Can you post some pics of the difference? I would like to purchase these for my fronts. If they are a different durometer than the Fsports.

I can't seem to find any good pictures, basically the flat side is metal and then the rubber surrounds and is bonded to it. I did use them with the F-Sport bar for a short time, but the F-Sport bar is slightly smaller in diameter than the IS F and so they tended to wear out too quickly. Ultimately I ended up going to the IS F front bar completely and am happy with the balance of the IS F front bar and F-Sport rear bar.

Jeff,

Thanks I understand now.

I just placed and order at Figs Engineering for the front poly bushing.

I like how they firm up better than the Fsport bushings. The road feel is also increased.

Mike something to keep in mind before bar swapping is the angle of the bar.

Lets say you have a lug wrench thats 12" long and you place it parallel to the ground (3 O'clock) and stand on the end. You weigh 100 lbs. You applied 100ft/lbs of torque.
Now rotate that same wrench 45° down to 4:30. Stand on bar. Your effective torque is cut in 1/2.

So by changing either the end link length or perhaps spacing the bar down so the angle between mounting plane and the mount at the bars end is no longer parallel to the ground and you reduce the bars effectiveness while keeping the same bar...

A simple detail overlooked when vehicles are raised and lowered. Fix the bar angle! Tho in your case you wish to reduce its effectiveness just slightly.
Happy tuning!

I got the SuperPro bushing now front, and rear again. It was a big improvement over the F sport bushing. At about 15K you can see they are starting to deform. The same corners I had trouble around the car feels more stable. Instead of the back end wanting to come loose.

A point worth noting for sure, that said, the effective torque would be about 71%. Still a 29% loss, but not quite half.
