Lower control arm help!!
So I got an alignment recently at Firestone and they said my lower control arms have a lot of play in them so does that mean that I need to replace my whole lower control arm or just the bushing.

there is enough info about lower control arms on this forum to fill an encyclopedia. It would take me about an hour to regurgitate all this info in this post so to make things move a bit faster ill give you the options and if you'd like to know all the research behind them you can run a few searches on the forums or on google.
1. There is an aftermarket manufacturer that makes LCA's for our cars which cost about $180 each. There is an ebay vendor that sells them by the name of Toyolex Parts Connections. Ive had these on my car for about a year without an issue and the construction seems solid, alignment worked out fine and fitment was spot on.
2. the LCA on our cars are compatible with the late model supra lca's. brand new those cost about $270 each. More expensive but if you'd like to have the toyota brand behind the product thats the way to do it.
3. you can do what LEXXIUM suggested and either replace the bushings in your arms as long as your balljoints are good or you can find a set of arms in a junkyard that have good balljoints and replace the bushings on those
4. you can buy them from lexus directly, probably the least reasonable thing to do because they cost about $600 each
Remember that you'll need an alignment after you have those replaced and you'll also most likely need the sway bar links because if the lca's are going bad the link are probably on their way out too. If you go online you can find a pair of moog links for about $30 on amazon. Worth replacing to avoid more headaches later down the line.
Best of luck!
