Was there a design change in the engine compartment that Im not aware of between 98, 99, 00 model VS. 01, 02, 03 model GS300?

Pete
It will fit an 2nd gen gs300's. There is no change. It looks like bluelex posted pics from the ugo and rmm but from the pics it looks like the ugo has 2 spacers and his rmm at least 1 to fit.

not sure if the ugo pic had spacers i think he said he didn't need to , that they just fit tight, but on mine i didn't put spacers thats just the coiovers and the rmm strut. no spacer..good luck

FutureGSorIS / Bluelex -

I guess RMM Sales Staff are totally CLUELESS!! My RMM strut bar is in transit. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about.

Thanks!

The UGO pic is from my car...no spacers were used. Just remove the plastic cap covering the strut tower bolts...there is already a rubber washer from the factory (01+?) used...just install the STB with the factory washer.

If the rubber washer is not provided, I would suggest purchasing a pair from Lexus.

If the GS is a 1998 or newer, a TRD strut bar with fit and you can keep the engine cover!!! Later cjj

Got them on tonight. It was rubbing the engine cover so I removed the cover and installed the bar anyways cuz I wanted to see if I could tell the difference when making hard turns, etc..... Feels great. Car feels solid...no flexing like b4.

Less than 1/2" clearance. With cover on, it'l rub on the edges of the cover....not so much the middle.

It is hard to tell but did you leave the OEM ring as a spacer? That might give you a little more height.

Yep...they are on. Now im looking if I can get 1 more set of OEM spacers. Maybe that will help with the clearance.

Just saw your WTB thread. I heard it is not good to put too many spacers on. This is from way back though. If you can't find anyone who wants to sell it (I am keeping mine since if I ever sell my bar, this ring is the only thing to hold the struts in), you can get them from Steve (but you probably already knew that ).
