Angry Weird rubbing sound after changing tranny mounts on 98 SC

So i changed the tranny mount on my SC because it was absolutely unbearable. (the old mount was in 2 pieces). After installing the new mount i went for a test drive and it rode heavenly. but then i noticed a loud rubbing sound coming from the mid to front part of the car. I quickly got back home and jacked the car back up and made sure every bolt was tight. sure enough i missed one bolt and it was only finger tight. so i tighten them all up pretty good. put it back together and went for a test ride again. and yet again the sound was still going.i had work the next day and it was getting pretty late so i had to just leave it for another day.

to help everyone pinpoint the problem here was my trouble shooting process:

1) i jacked the car up with a jack at near the base of the lower control arm, then used jack stands on the pinch welds.
2) it makes the rubbing noise when i make turns right or left and when the car goes over bumps and irregularities on the road ( if its straight and smooth no noise, and even over Florida speed bumps no noise)
3) tends to make the noise at around 3k rpm when accelerating but would do it whenever it damn wants to as well.
4) it is not a scratching noise like if the dust shield was on the rotor
5) only does it when the car is going above i think 15 mph (my speedo and odometer dont work so i have no clue how fast im going, just an educated guess lol)
6) in neutral and revving the car it doesn't do it.
7) i can feel the vibration in my feet while im driving ( the vibration does not go into the steering wheel so it shouldn't be my steering rack)
8) did it a couple times when i slowed down to a stop light, i was crawling at maybe 2 or 3 mph and heard the noise.

i haven't taken a good luck under the car as of yet since i work all week this week and wont be off for another 3 days and this is my daily driver. so do you guys think i shafted my control arm/arms when i jacked the car up?
just wondering if you guys had any problems like this. could it be the rubber on the tranny mount going ape ***** because it sounds more like a rubber or plasting rubbing noise. i would say my exhaust getting in the way of the drive shaft but it doesnt sound like metal on metal.
any of your guys' 2 cents would help. thanks

This is gonna sound weird, but does it sound like you have a bird in your trunk? If so then im in the same boat. Swapped out a trans mount and got that noise.
I haven't been able to confirm this but Ive been suspecting that the driveshaft support bearing is whats making the noise. After replacing the worn mount the trans sits a tiny bit higher than it used to which changes the geometry of the driveshaft. Im thinking it may have enough of an impart that it causes the bearing to squeak but like i said, this is just a theory. I havent actually tested it on my car.

I believe you're correct - V -. Sounds like you both may have a badly worn center support bearing (which could also cause the vibration the OP is experiencing). I'd work on replacing that first and I have a feeling that may just solve your issue.

I looked up videos of what a bad support bearing sounds like and it doesnt sound like that (i will still change the bearing anyway while im at it though) it sounds more like a plastic desk fan rubs against its plastic case if you know what i mean. on my way from work ill try and get a good sound clip of the sound for you guys

Exhaust and driveshaft both have to come down. The worst part is separating the bearing from the driveshaft itself. There's a DIY somewhere here as well as one on youtube.

so was it just a coincidence that you started hearing it after you changed the trans mount?
