L-tuned Springs: the end of the speculation

L-tuned Springs: the end of the speculation
I am not sure if the issue of L-tuned=Eibach was ever resolved. After performing a side by side comparison, I came to the conclusion that they are not exactly the same set of springs regardless of whether or not Eibach made the springs for Lexus.
Test #1. The springs were weighed on a professional scale. Result:
L-tuned front, 10.0625 lbs.
Eibach front, 9.8125 lbs.
L-tuned rear, 10.00 lbs.
Eibach rear, 10.00 lbs.
Test #2. Downward force applied. This is with the use of a lever using a constant weight. Result:
The Eibachs provided a bit higher spring rate than the L-tuned. Not day and night difference but conclusive enough to suggest the findings.
Test #3. Physical observation. Result:
Fronts: The Eibach has two small winds of coil towards the end whereas the L-tuned has one small wind of coil. That is proof of why the L-tuned has less spring rate.
On the picture below, the Eibach is on top of the L-tuned.

Test #4.
Rears: Almost the same, although it appears that the base of the L-tuned coil is slimmer than the Eibach.
See pictures below.

Wow, great post and information, thanks!
A mystery that's been around for a long time! I always thought my old Eibachs felt different than the L-tuned in other's cars, but wasn't sure if i was just the shocks being different... Guess it was both

Very informative post!
I haven't followed the discussion so excuse my ignorance here....but the missing data to prove one way or another has been a lack of published spring rates for the L-tuned set?

L-tuned and Eibach Front Springs
L-tuned (on bottom of the pic) and Eibach Springs, for the front. Note the two small coil windings on the Eibach versus L-tuned's single.
