You can replace as much or as little as you feel is necessary. The GS does not have bellows on its struts from the factory.

Just buy some coilovers. Seriously. For the amount you will pay for decent struts you could easily buy a set of entry level coilovers.

I don't want or like coilovers. Not looking for a slam or stance nothing like that

I completely understand - I am not a fan of the “stance” look. I have a set of Tom’s Advox Coilovers which provide a minimal drop, but they are quite pricey.

If I were replacing struts on my car I would purchase a set of KYB struts. If you would like a slightly firmer ride, I would purchase a set of KYB SR struts. The SRs may be a Japan only item, but can easily be found with a simple google search. PM me if you need advice on finding KYB SRs as the 2 companies I know carry them are not forum sponsors.

I had kyb excel-g on my car before I upgraded. They're high quality for the price. I would also recommend replacing the rubber isolators. I didn't and now I have a slight clunking noise where the rubber failed.
