Default I need new front brakes & rotors

I went to the dealer today and I was given a quote for $781 plus tax. I’m like okay no surprise there, Lexus dealer.

Alternatively, I asked for a aftermarket quote instead, I was given $560 plus tax.

Would purchasing a set of these parts from Autozone or O’Reilly hurt?

You can just buy rotors yourself for $100-200, pads for $25-50, and do it yourself. Friend and I did mine, there's even a fully-documented how-to on this site.

Thats a pretty steep price the dealership quoted you. Which IS model do you have? Dealership quoted me $561 tax included for front pads and rotors and I have a 350 F Sport. You could try negotiating with the dealership if you didnt want to DIY or using a third party...

If you don't want to perform the work, then use a reliable car repair place. They are Brembo brakes, and any shop should know how to acquire the parts, and install them for less than Lexus.

Don't waste your money on low quality parts... seriously. Brakes are kind of important!

Email Mark at Frozen Rotors - they are worth the upgrade and will improve braking performance even if you don't track the car... And the cryo treatment will make them last nearly twice as long. It takes about a week for them to be made but it's definitely worth it.

I have an IS300. I got that same total when they offered aftermarket parts. I ended up getting the parts from Oreillys. I got the parts w/ a 20% discount for $178 and Lexus charged me $250 with tax for labor.
