BBK: upgrade stock IS250 Brakes to 2019 GS350 F-Sport Brakes
#32
Ordered from OEM Vehicle Parts from Hudson, MA and they dropped shipped from JM Lexus in FL so I go it all next day (after they order from Lexus supplier in Orlando), no tax.

Yep...I've done this before with the 250 to 350 shields. pretty simple, just 4 bolts, 19mm and its a FL car so no corrosion to deal with. I think the hardest part was unplugging the ABS sensor.

Unfortunately was a bit of work when I removed my hubs to do the plates but it wasn’t the end of the world either.
Also to clarify, this brake setup was used on several cars, including ones that used the same knuckle as the 2IS. Lexus used the same backing plate for this brake setup and the Brembo setup on the IS F.

Happy Easter Guys... I managed to get something done this week. Got rear calipers and rotors taken apart to prep for paint. Good thing I'm quarantined, cause car has been sitting on jacks for days. New YouTube Video up.
Ended up having four videos, too much to squeeze into three. Next Video will be the paint...and it turn out Awesome!!!! Its done, just need to edit the videos.

Factory 18" wheels should clear these brakes without issue. Aftermarket wheels may have issues unless they are 19's (for 2- or 3-piece wheels) or have spoke designs with decent caliper clearance (for 18's or larger).
Another item that should be mentioned is that the aluminum hats on the 2-piece rotors are not designed to accept steel wheels. This isn't normally an issue, but can come up when needing to use your spare tire. The IS spare will not clear these brakes and is a steel wheel. If using these brake rotors, you should use an appropriate aluminum spare wheel. 42611-30F41 is the correct wheel to use with these brakes with a T145/70D18 tire.
For backing plates, 47781-53050 and 47782-53050 are the correct backing plates when using these brakes on a RWD 2IS.

I tested the 18" OEM 06-10 wheels and the have the same clearance issues as @javyLSU experienced back in the day with the IS-F and other BBK brakes and the 2IS wheels. The wheel design on this particular 18" has a slight 1/4" step that causes the wheel to touch the top of the caliper. Other 18" OEM wheels (G Spyders/X package/Newer IS'?) don't have this step which lets them fit. I researched this with the 4GS forums and seems like the consensus.
The steel 17" donut does not clear either. You will need the 5-spoke GS/RC 18" donut.
The IS-F backing plates I used also have minimal or no clearance.

It will definitely depend a lot on the wheel, there are definitely some OE 18's that can clear these as I've seen them on some GS's for winter setups. Disappointing the early IS wheels aren't one of them. I suspect 3IS 18's may clear, but again, haven't tried myself.
Do you have any other pictures showing the backing plate clearance? I haven't seen the factory Mark X setup up close, but the fitment should be the same for both. If it's touching that would seem odd. :\
