Yeah I wouldn't even mess with non sumitomo cores, not worth subpar braking equipment and Toyota is producing these again for a pretty good price.

I bought a full set of Supra TT calipers from Elmhurst Toyota. I learned about them from Supra Forum. Pretty nice price on them right now.

Best place to get the rears is directly from toyota brand new. You can pick up both calipers for about $600 (unless they raised the price again.) Toyota dropped the price from around $800 to $600 in 2020.
That’s good to know. I read about the aftermarket calipers on Supraforums and never knew they existed until then.

It’s awesome that they lowered the price. I’ll see if my parts guys can get me employee pricing on a set.

Thanks for the links! I forgot about Elmhurst. They always had good prices.

those arent too bad for pricing. Is there a genuine reason for avoiding the copycat calipers though? I mean its not exactly a complicated piece of equipment so as long as the material they use is good quality, it should be fine right?

I feel like copycat anything has a much greater chance of being produced with substandard parts in order to cut costs. Lower quality metal, cheaper castings, cheaper seals would all be a concern for me which is why I bought OEM brakes. A few hundred dollars in a car is not much and worth taking the time to save for. ^^ exactly as said above, these braking components can get HOT... Do you want a casting that potentially could fail because it was made subpar with no R&D or testing thereafter?

Btw Kira X, if you get employee pricing then yes you can beat the elmhurst prices, thats what I did.

Any thoughts on the Performance aftermarket brake kits? ...just to round out the conversation as far as upgrades go? StopTech, Wilwood, Brembo, (did TRD make any?) and obviously these would be what? 6 piston fronts and 4 piston rears? and usually larger.. correct?
I'm running 20x9 and 20x10 staggered... so clearance is no issue.

The Wilwood stuff is pretty good, they have come a long way the last few years. A lot of the guys I endurance race with have moved to these calipers due to the selection of pads available for them for the harsh environment of endurance racing. I have stuck with the LS400 fronts and stock SC rears for the Lexus. I can outbrake just about everybody I race against with this set up, so there has been no need for me to make the jump to the Wilwood stuff, but I think a case could be made to save money by going that route due to the price of race pads being much better than what I have to do for the race pads for LS calipers. Only for the pad selection and cost though. The calipers I buy from Advance are rebuilt Sumitomo and I usually give about $55 for a rebuilt caliper. Once again, all of this is just for race set up, for a street car I can't imagine a reason to go to any of those, just stick with stock.

You can go with OEM ISF or GSF front calipers on your car.
There's also a rear ISF and GSF caliper option coming soon for these SC.

yep bolt on. just your usual trimming of the dust shield. adapters for the front and rear. these two adapters give you the ability to chose GSF or ISF caliper too. Peddle feels great. just google 350phi.
