3IS Coilovers List
Wanted to create a single place reference for coilovers. If you have used them and have any feedback, let me know and I will edit the post below.
DIY Steps: This DIY is for springs but the steps are essentially the same to replace the struts on the front. For the back you need to take out trunk carpet to remove the shock.

Other important things to consider when putting lowering springs or coilovers:
- GReddy KW (~$1400):
- Range: -1" to -2.2" front. -1.2" to -2.4" in rear. The rear drop seems a little too much for my taste. I only saw one thread and his tires were nearly tucked in. Looked like the RS*R superdowns.
- Sprint rates: 11K/8K
- Havent seen much feedback on this in the forum.
- RS*R Sports-i(~$1800 with the extension for rear):
- Range: +1" to -3.8" in front and -0.4". to -2.6"
- Sprint Rates: 10K/8.3K
- Rear height adjuster sits at the bottom. So need to remove the spring each time if adjusting the height. Seems painful
- Everyone that has it raves about it.
- Has AWD version as well
- RS*R Basic-i Active(~$1900 with the extension for rear): Mainly for FSport models with support for factory AVS
- Range: +1" to -3.8" in front and -0.4". to -2.6"
- Sprint Rates: 10K/8.3K
- Rear height adjuster sits at the bottom. So need to remove the spring each time if adjusting the height. Seems painful
- RS*R has other variants as well called Best-i and Black-i. Black-i is for extreme lowering. Not seen much on these in the forums.
- BC Racing BR series (~$995):
- Range: -1" to -2" front and -1" to -2" rear. BC confirmed this via support question.
- Spring Rates: 12K/10K (no cost upgrade to stiffer springs when you order)
- Generally good feedback with some people having clunking noises every now and then.
- Swift spring upgrade is something that people say is worth it (~$315)
- BC Racing Extreme low: Not seen much on these in the forums.
- RR Racing R2 Road and track coilovers ($1599)
- Range: Front / Rear : not yet known
- Spring Rates: 16K/14K
- Just recently announced around May 2020. Rear setup is "true" coilover instead of divorced spring setup.
- From the same folks that make USRS. So quality is not a concern I think. Read some reviews in ISF section about higher weight causing the liquid in the shocks to heat up more. But it seems the shocks are valved to handle that. Anyone using this?
- ST XTA coilovers ($1250)
- Range: Front/Rear: -0.6" to -1.8" / -0.4 to -1.6"
- Spring rate: 9.17K/10.19K
- https://www.stsuspensions.com/produc...-18257805.html
- Made my KW. So probably very good on quality. Not much info on the forums. ST customer support and another member (@Slplknight) who has them states its a plug-n-play solution.
- @Slplknight review is that the car feels solid in turns. Feel of the road is increased along with noise.
- KW Variant 3 coilovers ($1445 when on sale - $2500)
- Range: Front/Rear: -0.6" to -1.8" / -0.4 to -1.6"
- Spring rate: Not known
- https://www.kwsuspensions.com/kw-sus...-35257005.html
- Not much info on the forums.
- NOTE: You will need to mod the front top-hats to install these coilovers. So these are not plug-n-play.
- Tanabe Revel Coilovers ($1200)
- Range: Not known
- Spring Rate: 10K front / 9K rear
- https://more-japan.com/revel-tsd-coi...s-350-rwd.html
- They do have few AWD models
- Not much info on the forums on these
- F2 Suspension ($796)
- Range: Not known.
- Spring Rate: 14K front / 12K rear
- https://www.f2suspension.com/product...250-14-type-2/
- Seems to indicate IS200 and IS250 models only. Havent seen much reviews on these.

Other important things to consider when putting lowering springs or coilovers:
- You will require all 4 wheel alignment ($100-$200)
- The wheels somewhat feel tucked in when lowered. So you may consider getting good quality spacers. H&R DRM types have good reviews ($300). 15/20/25 mm are most used ones. more than 20mm in the rear has rubbing issues for some people.
- If you go extreme low, you may need camber adjustment attachments.
- Front: SPC Front Balljoint
- Rear: SPC Rear Camber adjuster
