Question TT brake upgrade

I read some posts about a TT brake upgrade for $800. Where can I purchase this, what exactly should I order for my 96 sc400 and will this work with my 16 " wheels?

If these are your stockers, then it is highly doubtful that hte TTs will fit.

I believe you will need a minimum of a 17" wheel with a high disk set up. You can order some wheels set up for the TT supra and they will send you wheels with the proper set up. If you want something a little cheaper go with some stock MK IV Supra TT wheels. They'll work of course.

hey u guys say that you need a 17 in min to fit the tt brakes. So any 17 inch will do? I'm asking this cause i have a set of rims that are 17's that i put on in the winter but i'm not sure if they will clear the tt brakes i ordered. Also Killerlex did they include the backs and rotors?

Not just any 17" rims will do. They need to be a high disk set up. That will move the dish far far enough away from the calipers to give you the extra space you need for the larger calipers.

I have asked many times how much additional backspacing you need to get the TT calipers to fit but can't seem to get a straight answer.

What is the make, size, and offset of the wheels? If they're anything 16" don't bother trying to fit the TT fronts, you may get away with the rears but that would of course not be acceptable.

Some manufacturers mark the offset, some do not, check the inside of the wheel spokes and the 'hoop.'
If not, there's a way to measure the offset, but I have no way of drawing how to do it on here, google it and i'm sure you'll find it, you're basically measuring how far the centre of the wheel is from the lip, if you drew an imaginary line down from the outside. Once again, what brand and width of 17" wheels are they? I did alot of homework to make sure I would be able to clear the TT brakes and possibly something larger later, and it was worth it....I can literally fit a finger between my TT calipers and the backs of the wheel spokes.
