Default Pad only or rotors as well

I bought my 2016 IS350 F Sport AWD with new rotor and pads all the way around. Since than I have put around 40K kms (24K miles) on my car which is mostly highway. I will take measurements or the rotor and pads but it is recommended to replace the pad and rotors every time or just the pads on the second round?

I think it really depends on the condition of the rotors.
If the rotors are thick enough and not that corroded, then they should be machined/resurfaced when installing the new pads.
If they can't be machined/resurfaced, then new rotors it is.

I used to recommend machining, but now I just suggest replacing the rotors. If your going to the dealer and it saves a lot of money then go ahead and machine.

if you are replacing newer pads, like upgrading.. then you probably don’t need to replace or machine the rotors again. If there is a little lip on the rotor on top or bottom from wear then you do.
