Default How can i tell if i need new struts?

I was driving home from ohio this weekend and i began to notice this bumping noise in the back of my car just about there the cd changer is.. it wasnt that loud but noticable...so went home checked my trunk to see if anything was loose like the cd changer or soem thing rolling around in the back...nothing...so i looked around for some kind of sign...nothing..i then pushed down on the rear passenger side of the car and i heard a slight creak..then i though it might be my struts....anyhow is there any real way to be able to tell..p.s. i got the daizen bushes and sways..i put them in in march or april sometime..any advice would be most helpful.

What kind of springs are you running? If they're stock, then it may be worn out struts, if they're aftermarket, they may still be good but the ride might be compromised by the different combo of suspension parts. Just a thought. It does sound like a problem in the struts though.

when I first bought my car, I got a similar noise. The guy who sold it to me took it to the dealership and I just looked at the receipt to remember what they did. They said the rear struts were loose and they tightened nuts and bolts on rear suspension to fix the prob.

Hopefully this helps
