TRD Sways...is there 2 different kinds?
#2
Yes there are two. There is the Race sways which are colored blue and the Sportivo, which are white. If you want ultimate handling, get the blue. The ride gets a bit harsh over bad roads though. How harsh really depends on the rest of your suspension upgrades and your "butt-o-meter". The Sportivos are a bit softer but still does wonders for handling. I've had the Race ones on but my info on the Sportivos is only from reading on the forum. I think Ron430 just posted a pretty comprehensive review in the last week or so.
The third alternative are the Daizens, which is what I have now. Handling is more like the Race blues but ride degradation is much less.
Any of the three is a must upgrade in my book. The sways totally changes the GS to a different animal (in a good way).

What he said with a couple of exceptions. On my GS4, I have never found the blues to be harsh with the bilstein sports but that is with stock 16s. I wouldn't tag one sway as being either harsher or softer than another without knowing everything else about the setup. But I am a little surprised at how different the GS3 responds to mods relative to the GS4. And the TRD Sportivos are more impressive every day. Obviously going to try them on the GS4.

Ron430,
how is your wifes GS300 set up now? I am thinking of buying a L-tuned suspension and I wondering if I should change the swaybars as well. I am running the stock 17" GS400 wheels.
Thanks.

Every day that goes by I am just more impressed with it. As I posted, the Sportivos actually seem to have improved the ride in her GS3 a bit which is why it sort of catches you off guard that it has markedly more roll stiffness in high speed turns. Really is a very good setup for the GS3. If you have any worries about going to harsh but want to increase roll stiffness, the Sportivos are a great choice. I am talking myself into trying them on the GS4 as well but the blues really have no objectionable traits to me and just lock the car down in turns, really doesn't roll very much at all. Which can be good and not so good.
