Default Another Suspension Clang Thread

I’ve been reading all of the threads I can find over the past few weeks, but haven’t narrowed this noise down. It’s the clang just at the end of the attached three second video.

2000 GS400 – 100,000 miles. Ball Joints replaced once, as they have grease fittings. Everything else original, except for the Bilstein lowering struts (L-Tuned).

Noise happens forward and reverse, most of the time, but it does come and go. Only happens at low speed and just once forward/backwards. I’ve been under there, greased the ball joints (they look ok, wheels feel tight by hand) but can’t see anything shifting, but something certainly is.

Both Caster / Lower Control Arm bushings look like this. Not pretty, but not ripped up either.

Anyone experience something similar? Not ready to fall down the rabbit hole of replacing parts needlessly.

TIA!

Those are your front brake pads jumping from forward to reverse directions. It's normal and nothing to worry about. You can check to verify that the shims are still in place at the pad contact ridge. And I'd describe the noise as a 'clack' rather than a 'clang'.

I appreciate the reply! I need to get the car up in the air as I inadvertently gave the front end a thumping thanks to Atlanta roads... so I'll go over the pads and make sure it's all copacetic. In the car, the noise sounds like it reverberates... lol

Thanks again.
