Default SC400 Coilover spring and dampening rates

Hey guys! Starting to build my 96 Sc400. I purchased Silver Neomax coilovers and play on dropping my car 1.5 to 2 in. Does anyone have good numbers for spring rate and dampening for street use? Don't want to be rolling around with super stiff suspension .

Thanks for being a friendly community and all the helpful info!

Well if you’ve already bought them, you’re kinda stuck with your rates aren’t you? Unless you’re willing to replace the springs, which you can do if you want.

I have 12kg front and 8kg rear on my Fortune Auto Müller MSC-1 coilovers. They recommended 14/10, but I wanted a more compliant and softer setup, so I went with this. I’m probably a little past half way stiff on the adjustment *****. The lower you go, the higher the rates need to be, to prevent you from bottoming out the suspension. So far, I have not hit my bump stops, but I admittedly don’t drive aggressive and scan the road for bumps.

This is my drop:

I don’t know how much lower it is than stock, but it’s an 18” rim and 26” tire front and rear.

Nick
